Connecticut grant program aids small manufacturing firms

The executive director of a regional manufacturing trade group is lauding a new state matching grant voucher program for small firms.

Jerry Clupper of the New Haven Manufacturers Association said the $3.5 million grant voucher program, part the new Connecticut Manufacturing Innovation Fund, is the first release from a $30 million pool established during the 2014 legislative session. The state has had similar grant programs and the “problem has always been that they run out of money before all of the need has been satisfied.”
