American manufacturing is red hot.
At first glance, that would seem like an exaggeration. The Industrial Production Index, due out Monday, is seen having risen 0.2% in February from the previous month, according to economists surveyed by The Wall Street Journal. That would be the same pace as in January and represent 4.8% growth from a year earlier. That is solid, though within the range of 2.3% to 6% seen in the past 12 months.
